Born in Tashkent, she studied at the Tashkent Conservatoire with Rosa Jusupova, winning the Glinka Competition and the Prize of Hope. Her career began with the Moscow Music Theatre for Children, touring the United States, Japan, Germany, Czechoslovakia and Austria, before coming to the attention of a wider audience by reaching the finals of both the Belvedere International Competition and Spoleto Competition in 1993. She made her European debut as Olga EUGENE ONEGIN at the Vienna Chamber Opera in 1994, going on to sing Cherubino LE NOZZE DI FIGARO and Second Lady DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE at the Mozart Festival at the Schönbrunn in Vienna. Her debut at the Bolshoi came shortly after, and she has remained a regular collaborator with the theatre, in roles including Olga EUGENE ONEGIN, Cherubino LE NOZZE DI FIGARO, Adalgisa NORMA and Amelfa THE GOLDEN COCKEREL.

International highlights have included Marina BORIS GODUNOV at the opening of the New Opera House in Tel Aviv in 1994, returning in 1997 to sing Maddalena in David Pountney's new production of RIGOLETTO. She made her debut with the Royal Swedish Opera as Adalgisa NORMA opposite Marina Mescheriakova in the title role, reviving the role many times in both Berlin and at the Bolshoi. Other significant engagements have included the Deutsche Oper Berlin for Ulrica UN BALLO IN MASCHERA and her debut at the Savonlinna Festival in Finland as Preziosilla LA FORZA DEL DESTINO.

More recently, she was Laura in Dargomizhky THE STONE GUEST with the Orchestre National de Lille, conducted by Alexander Voloschuk, and both Azucena IL TROVATORE and Amneris AIDA at the Bolschoi.  She recently returned to Israel as Maddalena RIGOLETTO, to both critical and public acclaim. Most recently, her engagements included Ulrica UN BALLO IN MASCHERA in a new production in Kassel - a role she has also sung for the Deutsche Oper Berlin - as well as the Mother OPRICHNIK at Teatro Lirico di Cagliari.
