Soprano

Ylva Kihlberg

The Soprano Ylva Kihlberg was born and educated in Stockholm, Sweden, where she was engaged at the Royal Opera from 1997-98.  Besides her opera-education, she has a very versatile background as economist, ballet-dancer and rock-singer.  Since the year 2000, she has been a company principle at the Royal Opera in Copenhagen, Denmark and made her debut as Mimi in Puccini LA BOHEME. "She touches something deep, because she is so un-artificial, so straight forward and apparently sincere", one of the critics said at this occasion. Since then, she has performed heavier and more dramatically loaded soprano-roles, making her one of this years' most exciting younger singers in Denmark.
